There are really a lot of applications available for tablet PCs. For the Android platform they can be easily downloaded or purchased through Android Market. Just start the Market application on your android tablet PC, search for software you want to install and select the install option.
A lot of software comes free, it is so called freeware, but there are also a lot of companies which offer paid applications. You will need to have some credit card to purchase these apps through Market.
Here are some applications I would suggest you to install to your device:
For navigation:
I am currently using Sygic navigation which offers offline GPS navigation - it means that you download complete maps to your SD card and don’t need persistent internet connection while navigating.
The other thing I use mainly for my outdoor activities is Locus Free.
Media player:
For media player I am using MX Player which easilly plays any file i want. It can even stream directly from the internet. That way I can watch satellite television from my home on the go.
Games:
Your device will probably come preinstalled with Angry Birds game with which you will kill a lot of time. There are really a lot of games avaliabl on the Market as well.
Tools / utilities:
I can’t imagine using my tablet without Quicksettings application. With it i can switch my data connection, GPS, WiFi on and off.
