Tablet PC 4.0

Andorid system has really come a long way since it’s beginning. The development started a few years ago and it’s first version was announced in February 2009, with the first smartphone devices. The operating system included some basic features like alarmclock, a demo version of user interface, some web browser but onthe end it was a very limited edition.
Next version was named Cupcake. Version number was 1.5. In this release Bluetooth support was added, user interface animations were supported and it was also possible to stream media files directly from the internet.
Donut (1.6) was introduced in September 2009. With it a new version of Market was added. With this release Android was starting to get a real attention from major telephone manufacturers.
Version 2.0 was named Eclair. It was released in October 2009. It was a completely new release and it came with a new user interface. Total performance and speed were improved.
Then came Froyo (2.2). Major feature was the option to move your application to SD memory card and Android Market which enabled automatic upgrade of the installed applications.
Next release, which is still installed on majority of chinese android tablets and phones is the 2.3 Gingerbread. It was introduced in December 2010. The main focus was better integration of hardware devices. Copy paste feature was also added. OS now supports displays with higher resolutions as well.
The newest release is the ICS Tablet PC 4.0. ICS stands for Ice Cream Sandwich. It is the first release which was intentionally developed for tablet PCs in mint and therefore user interface is adapted for tablet use.
